Anschließend eine fiktive Europa-Reise mit etwa der selben Strecke gemalt.
In happy anticipation of my USA vaction I used google maps to visualize my road trip.
To put it a into perspective I played a bit GMaps to design a travel through Europe, with roundabout the same milage.
USA-Trip 2016
It does involve a bit of back and forth, yet is at a comfortable 1,440 miles. As the map shows the only actual states visited are Louisiana and Texas. With a big part of Texas still missing. Its a notable shorter tour than my 2011 road trip which been 1,846 miles through the South, if I would have stayed alway on the suggested roads.
Der Trip hat teilweise etwas Backtracking, liegt dennoch nur bei etwa 2.317 km. Wie man sieht geht es dabei nur durch zwei Bundesstaaten: Texas und Louisiana. Wobei ein guter Teil von Texas noch fehlt. Die Fahrt ist deutlich kürzer als meine Amerika Reise 2011. Die wiederum 2.970 km lang war. Wenn ich keine Umwege gemacht hätten.
Europa 2016
The trip is at about 1.461 miles, about 21 miles more than my US trip. Yet I would visit four countries and some famous European cities. Which, at least I think, puts the difference in size between the USA and Europe quite in perspective.
Die Fahrt wäre etwa 2351 kilometer lang und damit etwa 34 km länger. Dafür würde ich vier Länder besuchen und einige, berühmte, europäische Städte. Was, würde ich behaupten, den Größenunterschied zwischen den USA und Europa, sowie den Umfang meiner Reise, gut visualisiert.
Bonus: USA 2011
The road trip been phantastic yet proved to be quite a challenge in the end.
Die Reise war wirklich genial, allerdings gerade gegen Ende eine echte Herausforderung.
