The project by the System Matters aims to finance the translation and publication of Clint Krauses story game „Don’t Walk in Winter Wood“. The description of the game, the setting and the beautiful artwork by Kristina Kirsta raised my interest and convinced me to chime in. Even during my vacation.
While the project is technically labeled as „pre-order“ I do consider it close enough to a crowdfunding to give it a shout out.

Monarchies of Mau is a game by Onyx Path Publishing that follows in the boots of Pugmire and puts a cat in those.
Systemwise it’s a D&D variant based on 5th edition D&D.
Systemwise one plays anthropomorphic cats who’ll be experience fantasy adventures.
I like cats, D&D 5E and even though OPP can be a bit slow at times, they deliver reliably and good quality. Thus I backed the project and recommend you do the same.

Despite the opulent illustrations I got quite confused by this project. Is it financing three tabletop systems? Three settings? Both? A mixture? On top of those many question marks its the first game I’ve seen that describe the aspect that more advanced classes will raise complexity and require additional character sheets. Maybe still worth a look.

In that time, the game has picked up a loyal community, we’ve released more books packed with great ideas from unexpected sources, and the Powered by the Apocalypse and broader story game community has made huge strides figuring out how to write games that entertain, challenge, and prompt unexpected feelings in their players.
