I had several runs of the V5 Pre-Alpha planned for, and promised to, various groups or people.  Thus, after the first one completed, I started organizing the next one on the German tabletop RPG Forum Nerdpol. Which eventually happened on 20th of July.

This article will describe how the game went, which challenges we encountered, as well as my thoughts regarding the scenario and rules. It is the second of a series of four actual plays. I will try my best to recall the game correctly, though I didn’t took notes during the game and things might get mixed up.

I will express my comment, thoughts, thoughts of players in block quotes.
You will experience spoilers in regards of the scenario „The Last Night“. Specially if you are a player of mine, planning to play in another run.

I present to you the new Crowdfunding Collection #48, which includes every tabletop project started between 07.24 till 07.31.

Within the collection I’d like to highlight the PbtA game „Legacy“. The Kickstarter that managed to get me out of my „need for vacation money“ induced backing hiatus. Another project I really do like the the German Retro-Box for DSA (The Dark Eye), which offers the first edition rules of the game.
Next to those projects you’ll find cool adventures, interesting supplements, nice dice accessories and more. Just have a look:

Within less than a week of its release I organized a group to play the V5 PlayTest scenario „The Last Night“ on the 10th of June via Google Hangout.

The article will describe how the game went, which challenges we encountered, as well as my thoughts regarding the scenario and rules. It is the first of a series of four actual plays. I will try my best to recall the game correctly, though I would point out that it is about a month and a half in the past.

I will express my comment, thoughts, thoughts of players in block quotes.

I present to you the new Crowdfunding Collection #47, which includes every tabletop project started between 07.17 till 07.24.

Following the FeenCon convention, which I attended and where I GM’ed a bunch of V5 games, I present to you the brief collection of current crowdfunding project.
One of its many highlights is „Paladin – Warriors of Charlemange“. A fresh tabletop rpg by Nocturnal Media, which will use the system provide by Pendragon for its fresh setting. Another highlight, though quite a contrast, is Xas Irkalla. A new Horror RPG in which the player characters will be transported to an alien and hostile world made from the dreams of dead psychics. Compared to Xas the world described in the Spire RPG appears somewhat brighter. Though not for the dark elves who have to fight the system of oppression in this cyberpunk setting.
There are many more interesting projects,… though have a look for yourself:

I present to you the new Crowdfunding Collection #46, which includes every tabletop project started between 07.10 till 07.17.

This project does feature two interesting projects from Germany, and one which is actually more of a cooperation. The biggest one, available in English, is Cthulhu Wars 3, an immensely popular board game that I feel still deserves a mention. You’ll find as well a pretty impressive and beautifully illustrated collection of token cards by Johannes Voss, that might be of good use for a tabletop game.
If your interested in tabletop RPGs in foreign languages, take a look at Neciamus. Its developed by games in Aachen/Aix la Chapelle and offers a fantasy setting, placed during the times of reformation, as well as a fresh system.
Among the „English“ projects I personally favor the „parsley games“. Which looks like an intriguing mix of boardgame, „computer“ text adventure and RPG. Though Firelight comes in in as a close second and The Last Remnants appears to be quite fascinating.
You’ll find quite a bunch of other, fascinating project. Thus have a look for yourself,…

I have had a first run of the V5 Playtest a few weeks ago. During the playtest I noticed that the character backgrounds as written, even though I already made a few alterations, did offer some some challenges.

In consequence I decided to give the characters a bigger overhaul for the next playtest. I would like to share my documents and do would be happy to receive comments or remarks.

For the playtest itself, please go to white-wolf.com and download it at their blog:
V5 pre-alpha: The curtain rises!.
If you run the playtest, please give them feedback. If you did alterations, like using the characters as I changed it, please mention it as the standard assumption will be that you ran it as written.

I present to you the new Crowdfunding Collection #45, which includes every tabletop project started between 26.Jun till 10.Jul.

Thanks to a cold I caught the collection got delayed a week, yet you will find an abundance of interesting projects.
There are 13 Role-Playing Game core books included. I personally backed into the spy game Top Secret, the action of Era: Hitman and the rebellious, Misspent Youth. Yet there are aplenty of other cool games. Whether the newest game by Mark Rein-Hagen Revolutionaries, the cool looking Ghost Ops or the modern day cinematic Graphic RPG and more.
I did got a bit inventive with the categories this time round. Thus I would like to point out that „historical“ is more a loose term for games set in the past and that the story game section has some games more focused on storytelling and collaborative fiction creation than the usual.
Yet not only are there cool new RPGs but the other projects are worth a look or two too. Like the Fidget dice and other cool dice design. Like the possibility to support ConTessa (which I did) and get a cool plushy mascot. Like „Night Forest“ that tries to enable larping in the Forest without Boffers. There’s a whole bunch of interesting various games like a „scratch“-character sheet for DCC or an audio play and more.
Plus, even though I count about 50 project, I noticed three „normal“ games that looks like they are worth a mention. Though, take a look for yourself,..

I present to you the new Crowdfunding Collection #44, which includes every tabletop project started between 20.06 till 26.06.

Within this collection you’ll find three projects from Germany that don’t require any foreign language knowledge. Two of those should be of interest for those creating dungeons whether its laying out tiles or printing buildings, the third is a poker deck that did impress me.
Next to those you’ll find a fresh role-playing take on the story „The Yellow King“, a project celebrating the 90ties and the newest gamebook by Ryan North. DSA is about to get its first English supplement and there are tons of cool adventures, dice and other project.
The list has one of the rare dutch tabletop Kickstarters, aiming to translate „No, Thank you Evil“ by Monte Cook and a fascinating french „Beer & Pretzel“ RPG.

I present to you the new Crowdfunding Collection #43, which includes every tabletop project started between 12.06 till 19.06.

Thanks to the current heat-weave hitting Germany the collection is rather brief. The project picture, the creators description, that’s it.
I do would like to highlight Clink, the one game on this list I backed without any hesitation. It’s an interesting story game from the publisher of Belly of the Beast. Next to that my second favorite is the GameTek book, an interesting take on game design with a focus on statistics and math.
Yet I would as well recommend to consider Samyaza, the various adventures, dice and other, various projects,..

I present to you the new Crowdfunding List #41, which includes every project started between 31.05 till 07.06.

The week has seen no less than 35 role-playing game related crowdfundings being started. Offering a broad variety of projects I fondly recommend.
Among those you’ll find 8 very interesting new games. Projects that offer 80s horror like Rememorex or a new edition of Torg. Fun, colorful fantasy games like Lost Age next to a more ‚barbaric‘ approach with Beast & Barbarians. A cartoon themed PbtA game, and one of those that uses d10. With Tiny Wasteland, an interesting rules light take on the post-apocalyptic genre, and „Lost Citadel“ a post-apocalyptic game with a lot of undead creatures in it that ain’t all Zombies.
Next to those you’ll find fascinating games, walking the line between role-playing game, story game and boardgame. A very cute Gamebook for kids. Fancy dice and interesting aides. Next to really cool stuff like the Pathfinder adventure path videogame and really fascinating various other project.
On top of all of that, basically like a nice dessert, at least for WoD fans, the French translation project for the M20 comes with a brand-new, freshly illustrated and offical Tarot deck.
Take a look for yourself..
