I present to you the new Crowdfunding Collection #132 – Part 2 of 2, including every tabletop rpg project started between 01/26 and 02/02.

February introduces the Zine Quest 2 Kickstarter event, which follows a very productive week in regards to projects started. Thus there are a total of 79 projects, about 26 offering new games. To make it a bit more accessible, I decided to split the collection.
Do take a look at part 1!

In this part I will focus on all the many Zine projects.
Rain on a Conga Drum shows that something as small as a zine can contain not one, not two but three games! The games are all inspired by the musician Van Zandt, who appears to be a country singer or well songwriter. The approach intruiges me and I feel tempted. In Beak, Feather, & Bone the player play crow like creatures and essentially build a world or rather map, including notations. The illustrations look cool and the approach to make world-building fun sounds enticing. Though, you might be looking for a solo game experience, in which case, take a look at the The Artefact. The game has you creating an artifact and see where it goes and what is done with it..
Palanquin is more a traditional fantasy game. The player character happens to be the heir to a dynasty, when a coupe happens and puts them in danger as well as sees them fleeing. Basically like Ciri in The Witcher (I imagine). I do trust Jason Pitre, the designer, and ton and might back it. Then there’s BUTCHERY, where the characters have to face monsters that were created by the actions of humans and restore harmony in nature. I think of it as maybe being a bit like Werewolf The Apocalypse. Without the bloat or shapeshangers. The setting is described as licorice fantasy (dark, bitter but not all tears and misery), which is quite a unique description (I like salty licorice). I might backe it and recommend having a look at the game. With Corsairs you’ll get more lofty, airborn fantasy. Sailing around in flying ships with floating islands. Which sounds nicte. Well, and then there’s No Stone Unturned. Where you may explore a fantasy world and build a homebase. With the option to peak into the system via the SRD. Rarely did I like that many „normal“ fantasy game.
If you rather play a mundane band, checkout ROCK & ROLL. With Rock’n’Roll being something that might provide a good soundtrack to some Derby Drama. Both games do look solid.
Though maybe you like your mundane and urban game with some fantasyA Touch of Glamour has you covered with playing fae creatures. Alternatively you might descend into a the Green Dawn Mall to get one of your pals out of the maze. Well or you’re a gay dishwasher, greeter in the Dish Pit Witches. Which sounds like a quite unique idea.
There’s the option that you prefer science fiction. Where I would recommend to you having a look at Moonsailors. Traversing space, making discovery… the game focuses on the solitary experience and the connectivness, being accessible for groups of 3 to 5 players. Then there’s VALOR KNIGHTS: THE ELECTROCUBE WAR which looks more like fun cartoon syfy, Which is a nice change.
There are plenty more cool zines. Settings like Willow, supplements like On the Shoulders of Colossus or Dead Halt – Happy New Year 1999 as well as adventures like Sinister Red (full of vampires).

I present to you the new Crowdfunding Collection #132 – Part 1 of 2, including every tabletop rpg project started between 01/26 and 02/02.

February introduces the Zine Quest 2 Kickstarter event, which follows a very productive week in regards to projects started. Thus there are a total of 79 projects, about 26 offering new games. To make it a bit more accessible, I decided to split the collection.

I will start by focusing on the „normal“ projects.
Cowebs will be a game by Exalted Funerals, which offers a Neo Noir experience. Basically a game in the wake of FFO Limetown, Mind Mgmt and The X-Files. There are cases with a twist, which needed to be explored and revealed. It’s a gm-less game, that utilizes a fascinating looking „map“ and is played with 4d6 and 1d12. I recommend having a look. After ending its Kickstarter successfully Hexagon continues it with a IndieGoGo campaign. I would take a look, though flexible funding and to many other projects are keeping me away.
One of the many other cool projects is The Elephant & Macaw Banner Role-Playing Game. Based on the novel by the same name it offers a uniquely Brazilian setting. I like the description, illustrations and am very tempted to back it. Especially with Tom McGreney having proven to be a reliable creator. Red Rook Revolt! is another fantasy game that caught my eye. The players assume the role of revolutionaries fighting against an imperial power. I am quite fascinated that the game addresses aspects like different views on families and on the working of the comunes. The system is mostly a bespoke one. Another cool project, well and a patreon, is The Chronicles of Ember. Which aims to essentially provide a Dark Souls experience. Like, not so much the mechanics, but the setting. The system it self apparently offers like 4 classes and a lot of skills. Just take a look.  If you want your fantasy more classical, take a look at Swords and Wizardry. Which is like super classic fantasy with an OSR like system. Mostly offering a ultimate collectors edition. Grab it if you like it. I do consider Pride of Giants quite cool, with the giant bee-monster an all. System-wise it’s d20 with tons of skills. Offering a delicious crunchy meal. Last but not least you’ll find the Venture & Dungeon fantasy games. Yeah, games. Two at once. With a PbtA-like system. Focused on belonging. Which is quite interesting.
You might be looking for a more universal system. Era d10 Fundamentals is a hack for the Era games and offers you the opportunity to build your own with the system. Just take a look. Another universal game is GMD Core RPG, which looks nice.
There are two games combining various game styles. Blastback: Sci-Fi Superhero Escape Horror RPS combines Escape games and tabletop rpg for an Urban Fantasy game. Then there’s. Band Battle Royale, which mixes up role-playing with card games to make the players band famous.
Considering there’s Choose Cthulhu 2, All for Anvil and Alice’s Nightmare in Wonderland you might basically roll around in game books. Where I like to give a shoutout towards Alice’s Nightmare in Wonderland, as I enjoyed the original project.
There are a lot of cool projects, like the Dice for All – even as they are imho to pricey -, the transparent dice, stuff like the Simple Spell Tracker and many projects more.

Es gibt eine frische Crowdfunding Kurzübersicht #132 – Teil 2 von 2 – Magazine (Zeitraum: 26.01 bis 02.02).

Nachdem die Woche bereits sehr produktiv hinsichtlich war, ist seit dem Februar das Zine Quest 2 Kickstarter Event gestartet. Damit gibt es ganze 79 Projekte, wovon allein 26 neue Rollenspiele sind. Zur besseren Übersicht, habe ich die Kurzübersicht aufgespalten.
Schaut euch auf jeden Fall auch Teil 1 an!

In diesem Teil gehe ich auf die ganzen Magazine ein.
Rain on a Conga Drum bietet gleich drei Rollenspiele, in einem kleinen Magazin, inspiriert durch die Musik von Van Zandt, einem amerikanischen Country Singer bzw. Liedermacher. Ein durchaus spannender Ansatz der mich etwas versucht. Beak, Feather, & Bone wiederum ist etwas weniger ein Spiel, und mehr ein Tool für den Weltenbau. Man gestaltet gemeinsam und spielerisch eine Karte, beschriftet sie und hat danach ein Setting. Eine coole Idee, und mit den antropomorphen Krähenfiguren interessanten Charakteren. Wenn man wiederum ein Rollenspiel für einsame Tage oder Abende sucht, sollte man zu The Artefact greifen. Man erschafft hierbei das titelgebende Artifakt, und schaut danach wer es alles wie benutzt.
Wer wiederum klassischere Fantasy Rollenspiele sucht, könnte zu Palanquin greifen. Ein Spiel, bei dem man nach einem Coup als Erbe aus dem Palast fliehen muss. Quasi wie Ciri. Ich vertraue Jason Pitre als Designer und bin versucht es zu unterstützen. Bei BUTCHERY gibt es quasi Werwolf Die Apokalypse, aber anders. Die Charaktere müssen damit umgehen das in einer grimmen Fantasy Welt die Menschheit die Umwelt mit Monstren belastet haben, und das Gleichgewicht wieder herstellen. Das ganze ist mit einem Post-OSR System versehen und klingt durchaus spannend. Auch weil der Autor das Setting als Lakritz-Fantasy beschreibt (bitter und etwas düster, aber nicht total abgef*ed). Corsairs wiederum bietet luftige Fantasy auf fliegenden Schiffen und schwebenden Inseln. Was durchaus cool klingt. No Stone Unturned bietet einem die Möglichkeit die fantastische Welt zu erforschen, und dabei eine eigene Siedlung aufzubauen. Wobei man über ein SRD Einblicke in das System nehmen kann. Selten haben mich derart viele Fantasy Rollenspiele angesprochen.
Wer wiederum eine mundane Rockband spielen mag, sollte zu ROCK & ROLL greifen respektive einen Blick drauf haben. Alternativ kann man sich im Derby Drama mit dem kompetitiven Rollschuhfahren mit Ellenbogen befassen.
Jetzt mag man vielleicht seine Gegenwart mit etwas Fantasy. Mit A Touch of Glamour kann man in das Leben und Ach & Weh von Feen eintauchen. Was ich sehr spannend finde. Alternativ kann man in Green Dawn Mall als Kinder einen seiner Kumpel aus einem Kaufhaus raushauen. Bei Dish Pit Witches wiederum spielt man homosexuelle Tellerwäscher, Sitzzuweiser die herum hexen können. Was nach einer faszinierenden Idee klingt.
Wenn man Science Fiction mag, sollte man einen Blick auf Moonsailors werfen. Bei dem Spiel, das man mit 3 bis 5 Leuten spielt, erkundet man die Reise in einem Raumschiff und die Ankunft auf einem fremdartigen Ort. Ein spannendes Konzept, dass mich in Versuchung bringt. VALOR KNIGHTS: THE ELECTROCUBE WAR wiederum scheint klassischere SyFy Action und wirkt ansprechend bunt.
Es gibt sehr viele weitere coole Projekte. Von Settings wie Willow, Ergänzungsbänden wie On the Shoulders of Colossus sowie Dead Halt – Happy New Year 1999 oder auch Abenteuer wie Sinister Red – voller Vampire.

Zunächst mag ich die „normalen“ Projekte vorstellen.
Hinsichtlich der deutschsprachigen Projekte, hat System Matters die Vorbestellung für Etwas zu verbergen gestartet. In dem kleinen erzählerischen Spiel, schafft man einen Fall und ermittelt dann diesen. Was durchaus fesch klingt.
Mit Cowebs bietet Exalted Funerals ein interessantes Neo-Noir Spiel. Man geht in dem Spiel im Stil von FFO Limetown, Mind Mgmt und Akte X merkwürdigen Fällen nach und versucht diese aufzudecken. Das Spiel funktioniert ohne Spielleiter, bietet eine Art „Karte“ und würfelseitig kann es mit 4W6 und einem 1W10 gespielt werden. Das Spiel sieht spannend aus und ich empfehle einen Blick. Hexagon wiederum setzt die erfolgreich abgeschlossene Kickstarter Kampagne quasi auf IndieGoGo fort. Halt als flexible Funding, was mich persönlich eher auf Distanz hält.
Von The Elephant & Macaw Banner wiederum bin ich sehr angetan. Das brasilianische Setting, welches auf dem gleichnamigen Roman basiert, weiß mir zu gefallen. Sowohl von der Beschreibung als auch von den Illustrationen. Ich vertraue Tom McGreney das Projekt basierend auf meinen Erfahrungen mit seinen anderen Projekten. Das System wirkt hinreichend unaufdringlich und ich bin sehr versucht zu backen. Schaut es euch an. Auch Red Rook Revolt! begeistert mich bei einem näheren Blick. Hierbei nimmt man wohl die Rolle von Revolutionären in einer Fantasywelt ein, welche sich gegen das vorherrschende Imperium auflehnen. Die Themen des unterschiedlichen Verständnis von Familien, die Ausführungen zu Kommunen sind recht spannend. Das System wohl soweit erzählerisch. Imho hat es einen Blick verdient. Wer Dark Souls mag, sollte vielleicht einen Blick auf den The Chronicles of Ember Patreon haben. Die Beschreibung an sich ist imho schon spannend genug, als dass man sich reinfuchsen sollte. Swords and Wizardry wiederum bietet super klassische Fantasy mit einem ebenso klassischen System. Das Spiel gibt es bereits, ist auch erschienen, allerdings kann man sich mit einer ultimativen Sammleredition eindecken. Ein originelleres Setting bietet Pride of Giants, welches durch ein cooles Bienen-Monster glänzt. Das System ist d20 basiert und wirkt mit den über 800 Skills durchaus etwas crunchy. Was ich positiv finde. Venture & Dungeon wiederum bietet gleich zwei Fantasy Spiele, die ein PbtA-artiges System nutzen und sich mit der Zugehörigkeit von Aussenseitern befasst.
Era d10 Fundamentals bietet eigentlich einen Hack für das System der Era Spiele, allerdings kann man es auch nehmen und sein eigenes Spiel mit basteln. Was, wenn ich mir anschaue was es alles für Era-Spiele gibt, ziemlich universell möglich sein sollte. Daneben ist das Projekt super günstig. Wer sich allgemein für Universal-Systeme interessiert, kann sich auch das GMD Core RPG anschauen. Das Projekt schaut durchaus ganz nett aus.
Es gibt auch wieder Spiele, die Rollenspiele mit anderen Spielmechaniken verbinden. Blastback: Sci-Fi Superhero Escape Horror RPS kombiniert eine Art Urban Fantasy Rollenspiel mit einem Escape-Room Ansatz. Eine durchaus interessante Idee, die einen Blick verdient hat. Band Battle Royale wiederum kombiniert Rollen- und Kartenspiel, dass mich sehr vage an Umläut erinnert.
Mit Choose Cthulhu 2, All for Anvil und Alice’s Nightmare in Wonderland kann man schon fast in Spielbüchern baden. Gerade Alice’s Nightmare in Wonderland mag ich empfehlen, nachdem ich schon beim Original-Projekt dabei war. Es gibt massig coole andere Projekte, egal ob es die Dice for All Würfel sind – auch wenn die für mich preiswerter sein müßten – Dinge wie der Simple Spell Tracker und die vielen anderen Projekte. I present to you the new Crowdfunding Collection #131, including every tabletop rpg project started between 1/19 and 01/26.

With 41 projects started in a week the crowdfunding year is back in full swing, thus let’s start.

2 Women | 12 Games by Elizabeth Chaipraditkul and Steffie de Vaan offers the titular dozen of games, which are already fully developed and will be collected into one book. The games cover a great range of fascinating topics and use rule light mechanics to up to bespoke rules. I couldn’t resist and backed it in a minute. I am as well enticed to back the Trophy RPG. First it offers a one-shot game about doomed trophy hunters. Second it offers a campaign game where the fate of the trophy hunters isn’t sealed from the get go. Last but not least it offers a really nifty setting book for the world the trophy hunters engage in. If you don’t like it as dark, maybe check out Age of Ambition. The setting at the verge from fantasy towards maybe something like the industrial age seems new and interesting. In regards of mechanices it uses the Saga Machine engine and offers lifepath based character creation. World of Ere might be your cup of tea if you like a nice steampunk game based on the OGL licence. I think it looks nice.
If you like your game with a lot of technical integration, take a look at Knuckledragger. The concept looks interesting, apparently offering something like its own Roll20 platform – though it’s a bit to technical for me. Legendaria 2020 on the otherhand provides a nice mixture between ttrpg and a more classical card- or boardgame.
I’d rather like to express a stern warning regarding Mafia Caporegime. The IndieGoGo campaign runs parallel to a doomed Kickstarter, the creator doesn’t communicate and given that the IndieGoGo campaign will take your money directly… I am doubtful that you’ll see a game for it. After noticing the IndieGoGo thing I backed out of the Kickstarter.
There are of course plenty more cool projects like the gamebook Steam Highwayman III. If you are a fan of GURPS, take a look at the sourcebook Dungeon Fantasy Companion 2. Take it fast, because it will end in just a few hours. There are cool projects like Doom on the Warden for Metamorphis Alpha or Outpost 42 for Stars Without Numbers and many, many more cool adventures.

Crowdfunding Kurzübersicht #131

Es gibt eine frische Crowdfunding Kurzübersicht #131 (Zeitraum: 19.01 bis 26.01).

Mit 41 Projekten ist das Crowdfunding Jahr zurück mit vollen Schwung dabei, also auf gehts.

Mit 2 Women | 12 Games bieten Elizabeth Chaipraditkul und Steffie de Vaan gleich ein Dutzend Rollenspiele, die in einem Buch zusammengefasst werden. Die Spiele decken einen breiten Bereich verschiedener Themen ab und sind wohl regelleicht bis gänzlich erzählerisch. Ich konnte nicht wiederstehen und habe es unterstützt. Ebenso bin ich versucht das Trophy RPG zu unterstützen. Es bietet einerseits ein One-Shot Spiel um verzweifelte Personen die einen Schatz suchen und scheitern. Andererseits kann man, wenn es einem zu düster ist, eine Kampagne mit ungewissen Ausgang spielen. Nun oder man gönnt sich einfach das coole Settingbuch. Age of Ambition bietet ein Setting welches eine Fantasywelt an Grenze des Umbruchs von quasi Fäntelalter zu Steampunk bzw. industriellerer Zeit bietet, was ein spannender Ansatz ist. Mechanisch setzt es auf dem Saga Machine system auf und bietet eine Lifepath orientierte Charaktererschaffung. Wenn man ein klares Steampunk System haben mag, sollte man sich World of Ere anschauen. Das Spiel verwendet die OGL als Basis und schaut ganz nett aus.
Wer ein App-gestütztes Rollenspiel haben mag, sollte sich vielleicht Knuckledragger anschauen, wobei mich persönlich der Ansatz mehr verwirrt. Vielleicht ist es etwas für technisch versierte Spieler. Legendaria 2020 wiederum ist eine Mischung aus Rollenspiel und Karten bzw. Gesellschaftsspiel die interessant aussieht.
Vor dem IndieGoGo Projekt zu Mafia Caporegime würde ich eher warnen. Es läuft parallel zu einem erfolglosen Kickstarter Kampagne und zieht einem als flexible Funding das Geld direkt ab. Der/Die Macher gehen auch nicht auf Rückfragen ein. Es wirkt nicht vertrauenserweckend.
Es gibt natürlich auch weitere coole Projekte, wie das Spielbuch Steam Highwayman III. Fans von GURPS können sich mit dem Ergänzungsband Dungeon Fantasy Companion 2 über neues Material freuen, sollten aber schnell sein, da das Projekt nicht mehr lange läuft. Daneben gibt es Abenteuer wie Doom on the Warden für Metamorphis Alpha, Outpost 42 für Stars Without Numbers und viele weitere coole Abenteuer, die ihr hier findet:

I present to you the new Crowdfunding Collection #130, including every tabletop rpg project started between 01/12 and 01/19.

You’ll find that there are only 3 projects for full games been started since the last collection, yet there are still plenty cool projects.

First there is High Colonies, a hard SciFi game by the creators of HarnMaster. Humanity managed to finally and ultimately ruin earth and thus had to retreat into a few space stations – now called High Colonies. Effectively reducing the population to just a meager 20 million people. The players will explore space, the relations between the High Colonies and may direct the future of humanity. While I don’t exactly got a Hard Sci-Fi vive from the cover, more like 70s or 80s covers – though the setting sounds interesting.. Take a look. Then there is 2d6 Adventures which offers classical fantasy with a 2d6 system as mentioned in the title. Players apparently roll up their character, who’ll be described in 12 numbers, and may choose a class (one of 30) that fit them based on their results. Last but not least there is Strange Things Afoot, a Urban Horror role-playing game that incorporates creepypasta style stories. The player assume the role of teenagers, college students and try to fight supernatural creatures called tulpas. These tulpas need to be known and use the internet to spread the word, well and the net can be utilized to fight them. Sadly the project doesn’t talk about the system, but directs the interested player to DTRPG for further infos.
If you are more looking for a setting, take a look at the Very Pretty Paleozoic Pals: Permian Nations for the Troika RPG. There are fore sure not a lot of paleozoic settings and this one looks colorful, creative and fun – without being to stupid. If that’s to sweet for you, check out the Never Going Home Campaign Dossiers. Considering it offers scenarios, campaigns for cthulhoid horror during World War I. I got the core game, am tempted myself and do highly recommend it!
Then there are nice Dragon Scale Dice made from metal. You can roll them behind the exquiste Fire Dragon Valhalla Screen by Dog Might Games and put them through the rad looking Wizard’s Tower by Hexwood instead of simply rolling them. If you are more looking for a calender that communicates your love for dice, check out the Make 100 Calendar Dice, you might find a fitting notebook in the Roverbook. There are other projects like the Arkanos Card Set or the Full-Color Custom Miniatures with Hero Forge 2.0 – a project that’s going through the roof.

Es gibt eine frische Crowdfunding Kurzübersicht #130 (Zeitraum: 12.01 bis 19.01).

In dieser Kurzübersicht findet ihr zwar nur 3 Rollenspiele, dafür jedoch viele weitere coole Projekte.

High Colonies ist ein Hard SciFi System von den Machern von HarnMaster. Die Menschheit wurde auf knapp 20 Millionen Personen reduziert und verteilt sich über einige Space Stationen die als High Colonies verteilt. Es hat für mich den interessantesten Ansatz, wobei das Cover mich nicht ganz vom „hard“-Aspekt des SF überzeugt. 2d6 Adventures wiederum bietet ein klassisches Fantasy-Setting und untermauert dies mit einem 2w6 basierten Würfelsystem. Die finanzierte Werke verteilen sich entsprechend dem von D&D etablierten Modell, die Klasse des eigenen Charakters kann man wohl auf Basis der 12 erwürfelten Werte auswerten. Daneben kann man mit Strange Things Afoot ein Urban Horror Rollenspiel welches sich Creepypasta annimmt. Das heißt, man untersucht und arbeitet gegen Kreaturen die über eine Art Konsensus existieren. Das ganze bindet das Internet ein und klingt durchaus interessant. Wobei die Charaktere Jugendliche sind. Man findet auf Kickstarter leider keine Hinweise zum System und kann hierfür wohl basierend auf dem Video das DTRPG Portfolio des Machers durchwühlen.
Wer ein Setting sucht, der sollte ein Blick auf das Very Pretty Paleozoic Pals: Permian Nations für das Troika RPG haben. Es gibt sicherlich nicht allzuviele paläozoische Settings und das ganze sieht überaus bunt, kreativ und humorvoll aus – ohne total blöd zu wirken. Die Never Going Home Campaign Dossiers sind das direkte Gegenteil davon. Als ergänzende Szenarien bzw. Kampagnen für Never Going Home bietet es cthulhuoiden Horror zur Zeit des ersten Weltkriegs. Ich habe das Grundregelwerk bzw. die Box und kann es nur empfehlen! Wer Würfel mag, sollte sich ggf. die Dragon Scale Dice anschauen, deren Optik mich durchaus anspricht. Wenn man das Budget hat, kann man sich gleich den Fire Dragon Valhalla Spielleiterschirm von Dog Might Games backen. Es ist nur über Kickstarter erhältlich und schaut rad aus. Ebenso wie der Wizard’s Tower Würfeltool von Hexwood. Extentrischer ist da noch der Kalender in Würfelform welchen das Make 100 Calendar Dice Projekt bietet.
