Reiseplanung für die GenCon 2018

Dieses Jahr wird für mich recht aktiv was Hobbyreisen betrifft. Einerseits war ich zu Knutpunkt in Schweden, andererseits werde ich an der GenCon teilnehmen und letztlich geht es nach Austin zum The Night In Question Larp.

In der Hoffnung vielleicht auch andere dazu zu animieren auf Reise zu gehen, oder Tipps anzubieten, mag ich hiermit meine Reisevorbereitung für die GenCon teilen.

Crowdfunding Collection #79

I present to you the new Crowdfunding Collection #79, including every tabletop project started between 07.01 and 07.08.

After I took a break from backing projects, this collection sees my return.
The project that brought me back was the second edition of Geist: The Sin-Eaters. I followed its development via the blog of Onyx Path Publishing and was intrigued by what I read. The setting sounds really cool, and I liked the VtR2 game I played. Thus, I have had to back it and it is one of the few OPP projects I do back because I believe in it. It has a delivery date of 2020, yet I think it’s worth the wait and recommend it. John Silence is a new project by Josh Jordan and offers a Urban Fantasy with two engaging premises. On the one hand the player characters aren’t white folks, on the other hand the conflict resolution isn’t that much focused on physically overpowering. Given the presentation, strong Kickstarter record, I couldn’t resist, invest in it and do recommend it. I am still hesitating to back Tiny Supers. Alan Bahrs newest entry to the TinyD6 system family. I enjoyed the previous projects a lot, yet „superhero“ isn’t that much my genre and I do still need to save up for GenCon.
Similarly I am currently on the brink of backing Behind the Masc Zine, a magazine talking about games and a non-cis view on masculinity. Next to those I would recommend taking a look at Killing Lee Garvin, it’s not an RPG but a card game. Yet it looks fun, has a tabletop rpg theme and you’ll help the designer Lee Garvin with his medical expenses.
Another game that ain’t a RPG is the Edible Games Cookbook. It isn’t a cookbook one can eat, but one to be used to literally cook-up games. I do really like the idea and recommend you’ll have a look.

Es gibt eine frische Crowdfunding Kurzübersicht #79 (Zeitraum: 01.07 bis 08.07).

Im Gegensatz zu den letzten Wochen, habe ich wieder angefangen Projekte zu unterstützen.
Den Angang nahm hierbei die zweite Edition von Geist: The Sin-Eaters. Ich verfolge die Entwicklung bereits länger im Onyx Path Publishing Blog, und was ich in den Artikeln las, hat mich überzeugt. Das Lieferdatum ist mit 2020 zwar ein paar Jahre in der Zukunft, dafür vertraue ich Onyx Path, dass sie es schaffen. Ich empfehle das Projekt gerne. John Silence ist das neuste Projekt von von Josh Jordan und bietet Urban Fantasy mit dem imho Interessanten Ansatz das die Charaktere nicht Weiße sind, andererseits einem System das auf andere Konfliktlösungen setzt als Kampf. Dazu noch Urban Fantasy und ich bin dabei. Tiny Supers ist das neuste Projekt von Alan Bahr respektive Gallant Knight Games. Hierbei war ich durchaus sehr versucht, zumal ich auch die Vorgänger Spiele habe, überlege es mir jedoch noch aufgrund von finanziellen Erwägungen.
Von den weiteren Projekten interessiert mich das Rollenspiel Magazin Behind the Masc Zine aufgrund des doch ungewöhnlichen Thema und jenseits der klassischen Projekte ist Killing Lee Garvin einen Blick wert. Killing Lee Garvin ist zwar mehr ein Kartenspiel, allerdings dienen die Einnahmen dafür den Spieldesigner Lee Garvin bei medizinischen Unkosten finanziell zu unterstützen. Für mehr Informationen könnt ihr euch die Review des Projekts bei Roachware, auf Deutsch, durchlesen.
Kein Rollenspiel, aber ein Projekt das ich cool finde, ist das Edible Games Cookbook. Das ist kein essbares Kochbuch, sondern eins mit dem man Spiele zubereiten kann. Ich finde die Idee cool.
Ansonsten findet ihr natürlich auch viele weitere coole Projekte, so übersetzt der Uhrwerk Verlag z.B. das Mars Sourcebook für Space 1889, schaut selbst:

I present to you the new Crowdfunding Collection #78, including every tabletop project started between 06.17 and 07.01.

Among the current projects for core books am most by Fragged: Dieselpunk Mecha RPG, mostly due to its setting. Though I do consider Delve 2nd and Dungeon Degenerates visually interesting as well and am somewhat curious about Delves d100 system. SURVIVE THIS!! and Boast aren’t bad, just in genres which currently just aren’t my cup of tea. They might still be worth a look if you like superheroes or pirates.
I do like the design of the Infinity D4 dice and they’ll likely fit well into a Premium Dicebox. This time around I did add a „Helpful card decks“ segment, which contains quite some cool decks to help GMs and players with improvisation. Next to that I think HLG Con might be worth checking out if you are looking for a convention with a distinct focus on Larp and quite some World of Darkness stuff. Oh, and there is the Muertos Iluminados playing card game, which I think looks really pretty.

Es gibt eine frische Crowdfunding Kurzübersicht #78 (Zeitraum: 17.06 bis 01.07).

In dieser Kurzübersicht findet ihr gleich zwei Projekte von Ulisses. Einerseits ist man bestrebt Paranoia auf Deutsch zu übersetzen, andererseits gibt es mit Krieg um die Krone einen neuen Abenteuerpfad für Pathfinder. Legends of Xejaron ist ein kleineres Erstlingprojekt, und wirkt durchaus, ich sag mal, bemüht.

Bei den englischen Projekten finde ich das am Fragged: Dieselpunk Mecha RPG spannensten. Das heißt, hinsichtlich der Präsentation und Projektgestaltung. Wobei ich auch Delve 2nd und Dungeon Degenerates für einen Blick wert halte. SURVIVE THIS!!  und Boast sind bereits vom Genre her nicht mein Ding sehen aber nicht schlecht aus.
Von den weiteren Projekten finde ich das die Infinity D4 Würfel gut aussehen und sich in der Premium Dicebox sicherlich klasse machen. Daneben findet man unter „Hilfreiche Kartendecks“ interessante Hilfen für Spielleiter und von den weiteren RPG Projekten mag ich das zur HLG Con hervor heben. Ebenso halte ich das normale Kartendeck Muertos Iluminados für recht cool gemacht.

I present to you the new Crowdfunding Collection #77, including every tabletop project started between 06.11 and 06.17.

In this collection you’ll find three new tabletop rpgs and a recurring one.
Velvet Generation offers a Science Fiction Rock’n Roll game, in which the player characters form a band and trying to get a musical revolution started. The game uses d6, looks for doubles and adds some more narrative mechanics into the mix. The creators are experienced as this will be the second edition of the game. Dark Times on the other hand combines Cyberpunk and Supers with its setting. The players do assume the roles of superpowered human beings that have been created by companies who view them as their property and nothing more than tools. The system is somewhat similar and based on Wicked Packs as well as Spy and there’s a video explaining it. Survive the Night is a horror role-playing game in which a group of teenagers has to survive several scenarios. Based on the video there are 5 ready-made characters and 4 pre-made scenarios to get started with.  Blackwind is the recurring entry. I mentioned the game in the previous collection, yet missed the Patreon. Thus, if you want to support the creators and the game on a regular basis, there you go.
I did notice Advanced Labyrinth Lord and Tavern Guide as two supplements that caught my eye as they appear to offer a lot. Among the applications you might like to take a look at YARPS, the idea looks nice, yet the creators do need some more backing to realize it.
Bolsa Dragón, a spanish project for dice bags caught my eye, because it’s done by El artesano del Rey, who’ll be as well creating the luxury edition of V5, and offer quite an eye-catcher.

Es gibt eine frische Crowdfunding Kurzübersicht #77 (Zeitraum: 11.06 bis 17.06).

In dieser Übersicht gibt es gleich drei Projekte für neue Rollenspiele.
Bei Velvet Generation handelt es sich um ein Science Fiction Rock’n Roll Rollenspiel, bei dem die Spielercharaktere eine Band aufziehen und damit eine Revolution auslösen. Das Spiel ist d6 basiert, arbeitet mit Paschs und bietet einige narrative Mechaniken. Der Macher hat Erfahrung, immerhin ist es die zweite Edition des 2002 erschienen Spiel. Dark Times wiederum verbindet Cyberpunk und Superhelden Rollenspiel. Man spielt hierbei Superhelden, die von den Firmen welche sie geschaffen haben, als Eigentum betrachtet werden. Wogegen sich die Spielercharaktere wehren. Das System basiert auf Wicked Packs bzw. Spy und wird in einem Video erklärt. Survive the Night ist ein Horror-Spiel welches pimaldaumen in der Gegenwart verortet ist und ein d6 System verwendet. Wenn ich das Video richtig verstehe, hat man hierbei 4 vorgefertigte Charakteren, mit 5 vorbereiteten Szenarien. Das ganze wirkt solide gemacht und wurde wohl auch getestet. Blackwind wiederum könnte euch aus der letzten Kurzübersicht bekannt sein. Diesmal mag ich auf den Patreon verweisen, den ich zuletzt übersehen habe.
Unter den Ergänzungsbänden ist mir positiv Advanced Labyrinth Lord aufgefallen, ebenso wie der allgemeine Tavern Guide. Bei den Apps wiederum ist YARPS diesmal unter den Englischen Projekten zu finden. Die Anwendung wirkt nützlich und kann noch etwas Unterstützung gebrauchen. Daneben finde ich das spanische Projekt Bolsa Dragón interessant. Die Schmiede, welche die Würfelbeutel herichtet, gestaltet auch die Luxus-Edition der V5.

Crowdfunding Kurzübersicht #76

Es gibt eine frische Crowdfunding Kurzübersicht #76 (Zeitraum: 21.05 bis 20.06).

Nach einer kleinen Sommerpause ist die Übersicht mit ganzen 62 Projekten zurück.
Unter den deutschen Finanzierungen findet sich zunächst Mythic Britain, ein Projekt der Runequest Gesellschaft für das Rollenspiel Mythras. In dem Band wird das mythische England für das Rollenspiel aufbereitet. Mit der Havena – Versunkene Geheimnisse finanziert Ulisses den namensgebenden Band für DSA5. Passend zu dem Projekt, wurde sogar ein Lied: Havena – Uh nana eingesungen.

Unter den fremdsprachigen Rollenspielen sticht für mich als WoD Fan die Changeling 20º Aniversario Finanzierung von Nosolorol heraus. Wobei ich durchaus das französische Sneffels und Tecumah Gulch spannend finde.

Hinsichtlich der englischsprachigen bin ich durchaus von den Rollenspielen in der Story Game Kategorie fasziniert. Insbesondere gefällt mir hierbei The Mountain Witch, obwohl ich normalerweise PvP nicht mag. Allerdings finde ich auch das Blackwind Project interessant. Ebenso wie Triumvene, Gather und Helheim.
Von den Fantasy Rollenspielen bin ich an der neuen Edition des Black Hack interessiert. Welche scheinbar doch etwas mehr Material zu dem Spiel bietet, und es ansprechender gestaltet. Harvesters fasziniert mich wiederum wegen der Idee Kleintiere auf Fantasy Abenteuern zu spielen und Quest wie Dragonscales sehen auch durchaus spannend auf.
Auch die „normalen“ Rollenspiele bieten mit Starship Infernum und Secret Agents of CROSS interessante Einträge.
Wer nach den ganzen RPGs nicht genug hat findet viele Ergänzungsbände, Abenteuer Würfel und sogar 3 über aus ansehnliche Notizbücher vor, neben anderen Projekten:

I present to you the new Crowdfunding Collection #75, including every tabletop project started between 04.29 and 05.21.

Given my excitement in regards to the pre-order for 5th edition V:tM and my attendence at the RPC 2018 (German blog-article) the collection paused for about 3 weeks. Its back and features no less than 73 projects.

You might like to take a look at the German projects, as Die Vergessenen Chroniken – Nothing Stays Forgotten aims to finance the English translation of a German tabletop rpg. If you are a fan of Fate you might as well like to glance at Drei Abenteuerwelten, a sourcebook offering three ‚german‘ settings for Fate Core.

There are plenty more role-playing games. Like Agents of Concordia and Interbellum RPG. Both games offer a kind of ‚alternate history‘ setting and sprinkle in a bit of fantasy. I am quite fascinated by Concordias art-deko approach and thefirst World War theme of Interbellum and will take a closer look late on.
In regards to the fantasy rpg I am most fascinated and curious about Scales & Tales and ORC STABR. I do like Scales box-set approach, light approach and its accessibility for kids. Whereas STABR seems to be a quite funny, little and quite minimal rpg.
Amon the urban fantasy games you’ll find the second edition of Part-Time Gods and the d6 system based Necrotopia. Among the superheroe games there is IS IT A PLANE!? and SuperAge.
Well, and there is a peak of gm-less games. I think I’ve never seen so many started in close proximity to each other. Dream Askew // Dream Apart starts by basically being „two games in one (Kickstarter)“ and I am most fascinated by the idea of a setting that’s described as „Jewish fantasy of the shtetl“. Archives of the Sky does offer an interesting science fiction setting and BFF is a game all bout friendships. Last but not least there is Children of the Fall, a game in which you play children who survived into a post-apocalyptic world.
There are many, many more projects. Like I personally am fascinted by the dJAM dice and I do really like to mention the Patreon for the On A Roll, there are as well many cool notebooks, a drawing book and many, many more. Check for yourself:
