I present to you the new Crowdfunding Collection #175, including every tabletop rpg project started between 07/18 and 07/25.

This time there are many, cool games being funded. If I could, I would have backed each single one!

To start with something unusual for the English version. Donnerhaus currently aims to finance Freude schöner Götterfunken… a campaign set in 1917 including a full rpg system. The game is delivered in a box with the rule books, maps, dice, pregenerated characters and more. I recommend having a look, if your German is sufficient, or you are interested in German rpgs.

Back to the English projects, let’s start with Monte Cooks newest game The Devil Made Us Do It. The game puts you into the role of agents who are originally from the far future, yet ended up in roundabout nowadays. They have to succeed at heists, to keep the world intact. For this task they got the option to alter situation by just retelling the story. Making a door being there, which previously wasn’t, having a guard being nicely distacted or causing a blackout. Yet, if they go to big with the reality bending Paradox will hit, or,… well… bad stuff happens. The game is designed to be zero-prep, to be run right out of the box, and I feel enticed to back it. Then there’s the project Pixies, Wyrms, Demonicity, which offers three Tri-Stat system (as seen in BESM). Everyone of the three games comes with a core booklet (32 pages), 6 pregens, 6 short scenarios and 4 custom dice. Pixies has you play as the titular pixies, who made their home on human homes. Wyrms has you playing creatures who fight and consume each other. Well and Demonicity sees you as secret oparatives who fight against the *dramatic voice* infernal darkness *coughs*. I like the concept, and the pitches for Pixies and Demonicity. Check it out. Then there’s the micro game Banality. Which fits in a three times folded flyer. The first scenario of the quite narrative game, puts one in a post-utopian society, where the machines got uppity and one gotta flee them. I imaginge it to be like the the episode Automated Customer Service of Love, Death x Robots. Depending on the success of the project, 4 games might be added, offering new scenarios and more stories. I think it’s cool and the asking price is more than fair.
I did actually back the noir rpg Bloodshadows: Chronicles of Guf. The game offers an alternate universe, in which some creatures that go bump in the night are known to roam the city of Guf. The flair is kinda 40’ish and one can play a mobster vampire! I already got the box of the previous edition, Battlefield Press being reliable and happily backed this one. With the system being completly overhauled with a Savage Worlds ruleset being a plus in my book. Take a look, and back it. Please, I want it to actually come to fruition. Fedora Noir offers a more classical noire game for four players. While one will play the detectives, and do detective stuff, one will be playing the (in)famous hat, offering the inner monolog. A session should take about 2 hours and the game is card based.
Of course there are more interesting projects. You’ll find material to enhance your fantasy ttrpg session with the magazines The Oracle Issue 13 – Floating Islands and Delver: Resources for the Random-Rolling Referee – the first one with a focus on D&D 5E rules and the latter more leaning towards OSR. If you like playing D&D 5E, and you are looking for more stuff for druids and about the fey, you could have a look at Druids: Secrets of the Primal Circle and Professor Gilroy’s Guide to Fey. Though there is more D&D 5E sourcebook material like Wickerpunk RPG, next to many more projects. Fans of Mörk Borg might like to take a look at In the footsteps of the Mad Wizard – a miniature game and rpg supplement.

Es gibt eine frische Crowdfunding Kurzübersicht #176 (Zeitraum: 18.07 bis 25.07).

Diesmal mit supervielen coolen Rollenspielen, von dem ich jedes einzelne unterstützt hätte, wäre es mir möglich!

Donnerhaus präsentiert mit Freude schöner Götterfunken… ein Rollenspiel und eine Kampagne, welches das Schicksal einer Kompanie aus ‚der zweiten Reihe‘ während des Hungerwinters von 1917 verfolgt. Das Szenario an der österreichisch-ungarischen Karpatenfront beschäftigt sich mit Themen wie Menschlichkeit, Freundschaft, Loyalität und Mythen. Wobei die Abenteuerbox alles bietet was man zum spielen benötigt. Man erhält vorgefertigte Charaktere, das Icarus-System mit dem auch eigene Szenarien bespielt werden können, Karten, Handouts, Tokens und alles was man sonst noch so braucht. Mir gefällt das Projekt sehr! Die Macher sind mit Leidenschaft dabei, und haben mich bereits mit anderen Produkten davon überzeugt, dass es was wird. Das Spielkonzept klingt etwas nach „Montsegur 1244“, allerdings mit einer umfangreicheren Kampagne und der Option einfach eigene Szenarien zu schaffen.
Zwar präsentiert Donnerhaus ihr Projekt als klassische Vorbestellung, dennoch empfehle ich es nachdrücklich. Selber werde ich einsteigen, wenn ich Platz in meinem Budget finde.

Bei den englischsprachigen Projekten, finanziert Monte Cook mit The Devil Made Us Do It sein neustes Spiel. Hierbei spielt man Agenten aus der fernen Zukunft, welche pimaldaumen in der Gegenwart gelandet sind, und per Heists versuchen zu verhindern das es das Raumzeitkontinuum zerreißt. Hierbei haben die Charaktere nicht nur bessere Technik zur Verfügung, sondern können die Realität beeinflussen. Türen erschaffen wo vorher keine waren, Strom Ausfälle verursachen, Wachen ablenken und mehr. Wobei es, wenn man es zu wild treibt, Paradox gibt, respektive negative Konsequenzen. Das Spiel soll zu dem absolut zero-prep sein. Ich bin sehr versucht einzusteigen und empfehle einen Blick. Bei Pixies, Wyrms, Demonicity kann man gleich drei Tri-Stat System (BESM) Rollenspiele finanzieren. Die drei Spiele kommen jeweils mit kleinem Grundregelwerk (32 Seiten), 6 vorgefertigten Charakteren, 6 kurze Szenarien und 4 Würfeln. Bei Pixies spielt man Feen die sich ihren Platz in menschlichen Häusern gemacht haben, bei Wyrms spielt man Kreaturen die einander bekämpfen ~ und fressen? ~ bis eine(r) gewonnen hat und bei Demonicity spielt man Urban Fantasy Geheimagenten welches die *dramatische Stimme* infernal darkness(!) *hust* bekämpfen. Mir gefällt das Konzept, die meisten Pitches, und ich bin ein wenig versucht. Schaut’s euch an. Dann gibt es mit Banality noch ein Micro-Rollenspiel. Also ein Spiel, das kleiner ist, als so manch ein Flyer. Im ersten Szenario spielt man Leute die in einer „perfekten“ Zukunft leben, bis die Maschine revoluzzen und man flüchten muss/sollte. Automated Customer Service. Jenachdem wie erfolgreich das Projekt ist, wird es bis zu 5 weitere Szenarien geben, welche die Welt weiterentwickeln und mehr Regeln bieten. Ich finde es cool, und bin sehr versucht zu dem günstigen Preis einzusteigen.
Ein Spiel, bei dem ich recht schnell eingestiegen bin, ist Bloodshadows: Chronicles of Guf. Das Noir-Rollenspiel mit Vampiren, Mafiosi und mehr erhält eine neue Edition. Wobei es diesmal mit Savage Worlds von grundauf neuaufgebaut wird. Das Spiel setzt in quasi alternativen 40ern an, in einer doch deutlich anderen Welt die durchaus interessant gestaltet zu sein scheint. Ich habe bereits die alte Box, es ist genau mein Thema, und Battlefield Press sind zuverlässig. Schaut es euch an, und macht mit. Ich will es haben. Fedora Noir bietet ein klassisches Noir Rollenspiel. Hierbei spielt eine Person den Detektiv, und ein anderer Spieler den Hut der den inneren Monolog beisteuert. Wobei man das Spiel wohl zu viert spielt, und eine Sitzung wohl 2 Stunden dauert und das Spiel kartenbasiert ist. Ein sehr cooles Konzept und Projekt das ich auch empfehle.
Neben den 6 brillianten Spielen, die ich alle backen würde, hätte ich super viel Geld, gibt es noch weitere coole Projekte. So gibt es mit The Oracle Issue 13 – Floating Islands und Delver: Resources for the Random-Rolling Referee gleich zwei Magazine, welche Material für Fantasy Rollenspiele bieten. Das erste D&D 5E kompatibel, das zweite mit OSR Fokus. Wer D&D 5E mag, dem würde ich unter anderen Druids: Secrets of the Primal Circle und Professor Gilroy’s Guide to Fey empfehlen. Allerdings mag ich auch Druiden und das Feywild als Themen. Allgemeineres Material erhält man unter anderen mit dem Wickerpunk RPG Ergänzungsband für D&D 5E. Daneben könnte Mörk Borg fans das In the footsteps of the Mad Wizard Projekt interessieren. Einerseits bietet es ein Miniaturen Spiel, andererseits auch Material fürs RPG.

I present to you the new Crowdfunding Collection #175, including every tabletop rpg project started between 07/11 and 07/18.

I’ll start with Dreampunk, a surreal roleplaying game. As the name suggest, you’ll be playing a dreamer, who within their dreams, may interact with other dreamers. One might brave adventures, face nightmares and has to figure out whether they even wanna wake up again. The system is based on 78 uniquely designed, tarot sized cards, offers 9 playbooks for the players to choose from and can be played with, or without, a GM. I backed it, and consequently recommend it. Then there’s the newest game from Greg Stolze named DUELING FOPS OF VINDAMERE. The setting ist about fencing and being somewhat Bridgerton style, though the main focus appears to be on the mechanics. The game is designed to be played right out of the box, with zero prep, and no GM, sessions lasting somewhat between 1 and 2 hours. The further descriptions found in the video and in the text, remind me somewhat of his game „A Dirty World“, and I recommend you take a look. Fans of Science Ficiton rpg should have a look at Galaxies – The Game. It describes its system as rules-light, fast and easy to learn, and the setting seems nice. Plus, the core book got one covered with 100 adventure hooks.
In regards of the two fantasy ttrpg, let’s start with Crowns. The game offers a OSR set of rules, an adventure and a sandbox. With the OSR rules offering a unique combat system, and adjustments in the areas of monster design, character progression and healing. It’s presented in a nice, to the point magazin format, and I actually like the illustrations by Jacob Fleming – at least the cover one. The last full game to mention is Fallen Worlds. The game offers a postapocalyptic fantasy setting, with a focus on the fantasy aspect. It will come in two books, and judging by the pledge design it uses dice. If you are interested in a fantasy world that appears somewhat extensive, take a look.
In regards of gamebook, Jonathan Green is back with RONIN 47, a mecha vs. kajiu book from the ACE Gamebook series. I backed several of his other gamebooks, and do gladly recommend that you check it out. Even I am somewhat intruiged. Then there’s The Dragons Tears: Embers Fate gamebook. Uhm. It’s the first project of the creator, who hasn’t backed any other project (with his account). Plus, I’ll rate the plan to write a gamebook, including system testing, in 4 month ambitious. I personally won’t back it and I advice caution.
There are of course more interesting projects. Squeaks in the Deep will enrich both ttrpg Pugmire (dogs) and Monarchies of Mau (cats) with playable rats and mice and an adventure – in which you don’t have to play a rodent. I trust the creator and like the previous book. Thus, check it out! Other than that, Mörk Borg fans might enjoy the adventures in the KENNELS OF KARNAGE and I really like the design of the Dragon Tears Dice.

Es gibt eine frische Crowdfunding Kurzübersicht #175 (Zeitraum: 11.07 bis 18.07).

Die Übersetzung der neuen Edition von Kult – Die verlorene Göttlichkeit ist das neuste Projekt aus dem Truant Verlag. Das ikonische, um nicht zu sagen kultische, Horror Spiel aus Schweden, präsentiert sich in der neuen Edition mit einem System, das an Powered by the Apokalypse angelehnt ist. Zur Unterstützung des erzählerischen Aspekt, gibt es zudem ein Tarot Deck dazu. Ich bin sehr versucht einzusteigen, überlege jedoch noch, weil ich bereits die englische Ausgabe, mit allem drum und dran haben, und nicht endlos Ressourcen. Wenn ihr ein Fan von Horror RPGs seit, schaut es euch unbedingt an!

Mit Dreampunk gibt es ein surreales Rollenspiel, in dem man mit anderen Träumenden, Abenteuer besteht, sich Ängsten stellt und entscheiden kann, ob der Charakter überhaupt wieder aufwachen mag. Als System halten 78 eigens angefertigte Karten her, im Tarot Format, mit welchen man den Fortgang der Geschichte gestaltet und Spieler erhalten 9 Playbooks. Wobei man es mit oder ohne SL spielen kann. Ich empfehle einen Blick, und bin selbst dabei. Daneben ersucht Greg Stolze die Finanzierung für sein neues Spiel DUELING FOPS OF VINDAMERE – vom Setting her eine Mischung aus Bridgerton und Cobra Kay oder einem Romeo & Julia/Macbeth Crossover. Mechanische liegt der Fokus darauf, dass man keinen SL braucht, und direkt losspielen können soll. Wobei die Sitzungen zwischen 1 bis 2 Stunden. Das System erinnert mich etwas an ein etwas strukturiertes „A Dirty World“, und ich empfehle einen Blick. Bei Galaxies – The Game wiederum handelt es sich um ein Science Fiction Rollenspiel. Das System wird als schnell, regelleicht und einfach zu erlernen beschrieben und das GRW enthält neben dem Setting auch 100 Abenteuer Ansätze. Das Projekt schaut nett aus, und hat, wie ich finde, einen Blick verdient.
Crowns wiederum macht den Anfang bei den Fantasy Rollenspielen. So bietet es ein OSR Regelset, ein Abenteuer und ein Szenario. Wobei die OSR artigen Regeln durch ein neues Kampfsystem, sowie Anpassungen in den Bereichen des Monster-Designs, Charakterentwicklung und Heilung. Die Illustrationen von Jacob Fleming, zumindest das Cover, gefällt mir sehr gut, und ich empfehle das Projekt gerne. Zumal es im handlichen Magazin-Format daher kommt. In dem Rollenspiel Fallen Worlds wird die Fantasy vor einem postapokalyptischen Hintergrund präsentiert. Das Setting klingt ganz interessant, wobei das System nur grob umrissen wird. Wobei man aus den Pledges ersehen kann, dass es würfelbasiert ist. Mit dem Umstand das es gleich mit einem Spieler- und einem Spielleiterbuch daherkommt, könnte es ein W20 System sein. Für mehr Informationen, empfehle ich die Projektseite.
Neben den Rollenspielen, präsentiert Jonathan Green mit RONIN 47 ein Spielbuch, in dem sich Mecha mit Kajiu messen. Es steht in der ACE Gamebook Reihe, und ich vertraue dem Projektmacher, da er mir bereits andere Spielbücher lieferte. Schaut es euch an! Mit The Dragons Tears: Embers Fate wird versucht ein weiteres Spielbuch zu finanzieren. Allerdings hat der Macher bisher weder andere Projekte gemacht, noch Projekte unterstützt. Dazu erfährt man im Text recht wenig, außer das man sich ambitionierte Ziele setzte, wie das Buch in 4 Monaten zu schreiben, inklusive des testen des Würfel-System. Das Projekt bekommt von mir ein vorsichtiges „Naja“.
Daneben gibt es noch weitere coole Projekte. So bietet Squeaks in the Deep eine Erweiterung des Settings von Pugmire (Hunde) und Monarchies of Mau (Katzen) in der Form von Ratten und Mäuse. Daneben gibt es ein Abenteuer für die älteren beiden Spiele. Mir gefällt das Setting und ich habe die beiden Systeme. Schaut es Euch an! Ansonsten finden Mörk Borg Fans ein Abenteuer in den KENNELS OF KARNAGE und von den Würfeln gefallen mir die Dragon Tears Dice.

I present to you the new Crowdfunding Collection #174, including every tabletop rpg project started between 06/27 and 07/11.

Having had to pause last week, I managed to scrap a bit of time together, to get it done. Still, my small prelude, might be shorter than usual.

Let’s start with GhastBashers. A game in which you catch ghosts, ghostbuster style, using a narrative d12 system. Fans of superheroes get a D&D 5E ruleset based game with Capes & Crooks. If you like to design your own setting, you should check out Anyworld Tabletop Roleplaying System. Next to the rules required, it offers introductionary scenarios for quite some genre.
Fans of the old tentacled creature, can face him with Cursed Captains of Cthulhu swashbuckling style. Which is a somewhat fresh approach with a 4d6 based system. Those who prefer Cthulhu like it’s been done in the past, can get their serving of Call of Cthulhu Classic from Chaosium.
The HYPERBOREA 3E kickstarter aims to finance the new edition of the famous fantasy rpg, with quite some fans and thus funding already. Chromatic Dungeons appears to be a reaction to the current „new TSR controversy“, and uses a diverse set of creators to offer an OSR game with modern sensibilities in mind – basically aiming to actively include people. Then there is Highcaster, aiming to enable the players to shape up legends, using the „Caster System“ as previously seen in ttrpgs like The Great American Novel and The Great American Witch. Peace the RPG might not look much, going by the thumbnail, yet the project offers a broad and interesting looking description. I do recommend having a look. Then there is Fate of Dungeons, a game that aims to offer a fates based old school rpg. Sounds strange? Yet, it is what the pitch says.
If you like narrative games in the style of Fate and Numenera, and mechas, you got to take a look at The Tears of a Machine. If it weren’t for the system used, I would have backed it, as I quite like the theme. MEGALOS: Aetherological Crystalpunk sorts itself into the Science Fantasy genre and uses a narrative d20 system. For more infos, check out the project.
I am quite tempted to back the solo ttrpg Dwelling: A Solo Game for Ghosts. I like the horror theme, the exploration of a haunted house, and the interaction with the titular ghosts. Plus, its the first solo game, that I noticed, which features Safety Tools. Very cool! Then there is the solo game Adventure Squared. You get a solo ttrpg, journaling game and create maps. Three things in one project.
Last but not least we get to the gamebook category, in which we find Chasing Tail. A game in which one – as a furry – chases the tails of other furrys, and might engage in fun times. Which is why it has the „mature audience“ labe. Facinating.

Es gibt eine frische Crowdfunding Kurzübersicht #174 (Zeitraum: 27.06 bis 11.07).

Nachdem ich eine Woche pausieren musste, konnte ich dieses Wochenende kurz die Zeit finden. Wobei ich es jedoch bei recht kurzen Vorstellungen belassen mag.

Ulisses Spiele strebt mit Schwerter und Dämonen, Grimmzahns Fallen und die Städtebücher die Finanzierung von zwei Ergänzungsbände für DSA an. Wie zu erwarten, ist das Projekt schon zu 748% zum Zeitpunkt des Artikels finanziert.

Bei den englischsprachigen Spielen bietet GhastBashers, ein Spiel rund um das fangen von Geistern, Ghostbuster Style, wofür es ein erzählerisches W12 System verwendet. Wenn man Superhelden mag, bietet Capes & Crooks eben diese, mit D&D 5E inspirierten Regeln. Vielleicht mag man auch sein System selber machen? In dem Fall könnte Anyworld Tabletop Roleplaying System etwas für einen sein. Neben verschiedenen Regeln, bietet es auch Einstiegsabenteuer für eine ganze Reihe unterschiedlicher Settings.
Fans des großen, alten Tentakelträger können sich mit Cursed Captains of Cthulhu diesem im Mantel & Degen Stil stellen. Damit hat das 4W6 basierte Rollenspiel einen nicht ganz so verbrauchten Ansatz zum Thema gefunden. Wer es klassisch mag, den deckt Chaosium mit Call of Cthulhu Classic mit ihren klassischen CoC Büchern ein.
HYPERBOREA 3E ist natürlich eins der Fantasy Rollenspiele, welches durch sein bestehendes Fandom herraussticht, und dessen Kickstarter Projekt super läuft. Chromatic Dungeons wiederum greift die aktuelle TSR-Kontroverse auf, und bietet ein OSR Spiel, dass von einem diversenen Team, mit einem zeitgemäßen Verständnis von Inklusion geschaffen wurde, – also für alle da sein will. Wer gerne epische Legenden erschaffen mag, sollte einen Blick auf Highcaster haben. Wobei das Projekt das „Caster System“ verwendet, welches schon in The Great American Novel und The Great American Witch genutzt wurde. Peace the RPG wiederum bietet ein umfangreiches Rollenspiel, um Helden welche die Welt vorm Untergang retten. Lasst euch von dem etwas einfach ausschauenden Thumbnail nicht abschrecken, und schaut es euch an. Es wirkt auf mich durchaus gut gestaltet. Dann gibt es mit Fate of Dungeons noch ein Fate basiertes Old-School RPG. Klingt merkwürdig, aber so steht es da geschrieben.
Fans von erzählerischen Spielen und Mecha, sollten sich unbedingt The Tears of a Machine anschauen. Mir gefällt das Artwork, die Idee, und würde das System nicht so nach Fate bzw. Numenera aussehen – mit beschreibenden Begriffen – wäre ich dabei. Dann gibt es mit MEGALOS: Aetherological Crystalpunk das sich im Science Fantasy Genre verortet und ein leichtes, erzählerisches W20 System verwendet. Für Fans des Genre sicherlich interessant.
Bei den Solo Rollenspielen bin ich sehr versucht bei Dwelling: A Solo Game for Ghosts einzusteigen. Hierbei erkundet man als Spieler, ein gruseliges Spukhaus. Wobei es das erste Solo Spiel, mit Safety-Tool ist. Sehr cool. Alternativ gibt es noch das Solo RPG Adventure Squared. Wo man neben dem Tagebuch Aspekt, auch noch Karten schafft.
Bei den Spielbüchern gibt es mit Chasing Tail. Hierbei jagt man dem Schweif anderer Furrys nach. Heißt, man spielt Furrys, in einer Welt mit anderen Furrys, die dann unter anderen Dinge tun, welche sich an eine „mature audience“ richten. Wobei ich nicht davon ausgehe, dass tiefe, philosophische Diskussionen oder Gewalt die quasi „Ab 18“ Kategorie zu verantworten haben.
Ansonsten finde ich noch die Deadly Skull Dice & Sunken Skull Resin Dice recht hübsch.
